The Ethics & Compliance Officer is a relatively new position introduced in the corporate charts for the first time by the US companies. After 2002, the moment when the big scandals affected the US economy, American companies felt the need to have a person in charge of the corporate governance and all compliance activities.

But only recently European companies realised the real benefits of such position in their organizational structure. And, in the last two years, more and more companies started searching for a qualified person to fill in this position.
